These are some pretty stout claims coming from what seems to be a newer company and as it quickly began to overload my Facebook feed both and my Instagram…. I got curious.
I’ve always been somewhat cautious of what I put on my hair since it’s so high maintenance anyway. It’s fine, super blonde (chemically abused since my oldest was born) and oily…. ugh. But I’m always on the hunt for new products and willing to try something new that brings results! I hate products that promise a punch and do nothing other than smell pretty.
So as I fell into my curiosity after researching some of the reviews and checking out some of the ingredient lists I decided to give it a shot.
Two full boxes showed up with everything from shampoo and conditioner of course, to sorbet serums and beachy texture spray. Surprisingly they were packaged very well! I hate ordering products like this online and when they show up you have a full on explosion at your doorstep… L’ange taped the tops of the creams, secured liquid items inside individual bags and bubble wrap. Packaging is important of course!
The Haul:
Tonique Invigorating Mint Shampoo
Heavenly Reparative Shampoo
Indulgé Marula Oil Hydrating Conditioner
Frozé Cool Toning Conditioner
Réplenish Conditioning Spray
Satin Néctar Nourishing Gloss
Sorbet Botanical Smoothing Balm
Déjà Vu Dry Shampoo
Salt + Séa Texturizing Spray
Rival Heat Shield
All were pretty reasonably priced for products if they were higher quality than say your ‘drugstore’ brand… but the price point did add to my high expectations! Charge more than John Freida, you better work it!
My expectations and I suppose ‘hair goals’ are simple: I want to strengthen my hair leaving it looking fuller and less fragile. I want to also be able to wash my hair less… I know that stripping it everyday is damaging. So training my hair is important as well as I want to protect it from heat and the elements as best I can. Hence most of my haul is reparative or conditioning.
Day One:
Girl yes… the mint shampoo and macula oil conditioner delivered. While they do smell delicious, I really did feel a difference in my hair. Usually getting out of the shower I have a mess on my hands… brushing is nearly impossible and I was able to run my fingers through my hair while I was still in the shower. This is HUGE.
I follow the wash with the conditioning spray and sparingly use the smoothing balm on my ends. As assumed, brushing was a breeze. But here’s where the fun usually ends… dry time. When I use oil based products or serums I can usually guarantee that my hair is going to feel heavy and just look disgusting by the end of the day. I felt that I gave these products a fair chance by following their suggestions and reading/watching some how-to’s so I felt that I used them appropriately for my hair.
To my surprise as I dried… my hair was NOT heavy. It doesn’t feel greasy and I cannot find a residue on my hair, yet it feels soft and flaunts a healthy shine! I’m excited!
I curled my hair this day and after the suggestions of using less product when I want to prolong washing… I decided to not use my usual mousse and curl treatments just to see what would happen. All the while I’m telling myself that I need these to make my hair look good. The heat protection spray smells delicious and dries quickly… again it’s light. As I begin to curl I’m not surprised that it’s curling less… the tale of time will be the hold! I love the way my hair looks curled without mousse… just more natural and has more movement.
Again, to my surprise – it lasted all day.
The dry shampoo is a little too light for me… It’s not really what I’m looking for to combat the oils that I produce throughout the day right now. It comes out more ‘wet’. Possibly will be more relevant later in my journey, but not today.
The purple frozé conditioner I need more time… I mean my hair is far less brassy than usual, but I feel that the pigment should be stronger for this effect. I’m no scientist though… so of course lets give it time!
Now some of the products I’ve just dabbled in…. like the sea + salt spray and the nourishing gloss… I’ve used these sparingly but in how I have used them I can see the quality is there. I love the texture of the sea + salt spray and it’s not overly heavy or drying which is the typical outcome of either for me. Finding one that I can actually use is giving me reason to style my hair in a way I really haven’t been able to before! I love it!
OVERALL: I’m living for these products right now… Completely… the punch of quality with the luxurious scents and textures has my hair HAPPY. I have no doubt that overall it’s going to be healthier, stronger and time is what will really be the true test. But I’ll of course keep you posted. It’s only been a few weeks so far!
